Enrol your child for a week full of exciting activities to push their minds and develop their understanding of important topics outside of ordinary education.
Your child will participate in a range of interactive and mind stimulating group activities which will expose them to fundamental matters that can shape their minds for social growth. A carefully selected topic list has been constructed, all attached with gripping tasks for the optimal learning experience. Below is a short synopsis of what children will explore and engage in.
Debate
Students will begin the week with no better ice breaker than a good old-fashioned debate. With a range of topics to choose from, the kids will be given the opportunity to present their ideas and feelings towards subjective statements in the form of arguments. After initially voicing their ideas, students will be introduced to a more structured method of argument building, with a range of useful techniques. This will give them another opportunity to make their case and show off their new skills with one more final debate!
Media Studies
A chance to explore a range of genres in film and other streams of media. Students will become well acquainted with media intent and what details creators use to best portray their agendas. Students will then have the opportunity to create their own posters to capture a story in one image.
Creative Writing
Student will be opened-up to multiple avenues of creative writing. This will include how to create short stories, script writing and an introduction to journal writing. Not only does this develop their creativity, but it will also allow students to practice mindfulness and develop peace in their mental health.
STEM Games
These sessions will be filled with exhilarating hands on activities including science experiments and engineering tasks. With a range of equipment and constructions at their disposal, students will be given the ability to engage in creations outside of traditional school proposals.
Spoken Word
Spoken word is a great channel for people to express themselves and challenge large societal controversies. Examples covering different themes will be shown and broken down to the kids for inspiration when creating their own pieces. There will be a chance for kids to perform their spoken word if they choose to.
Virtual Reality
A fun and interactive session where kids will be able to get some hands-on time with virtual reality gear. They’ll also have a chance to use and understand augmented reality. This will develop a familiarity with integral components of the ever-growing field of technology.
History
An exploration of key periods and evens in history across the globe from the Romans to the Ottomans, we will provide an understanding of just what everyday life was like under the rule of the most famous eras. A great chance to consider what lives we may have lived in a completely different time.
Escape Room
This exercise will allow the kids to develop their abilities to work successfully in a group as they tackle a range of interactive puzzles and challenges. Will they be able to make their way through this adventurous journey to a satisfying victory?
Art
Arguably the most captivating form of expression is through art. From the likes of Picasso to Banksy, the range of technique and style has proven to be infinite. This is also the case for interpretations of such pieces, with their means of ambiguity. During this session, kids will have a chance to discover and interpret a variety of artwork, with a chance to then express themselves with some artwork in the style of their choice.
